Continuous Structural Steel Re-Rolling Workflow
Nav Durga Ispat's manufacturing process transforms prime raw billets into high-precision structural Beams, Channels, and Angles. Built on 6 stands of 3-high rolling mill technology with advanced pinion and reduction gear systems, our continuous line ensures uniform metallurgical grain structure, smooth surface finish, and exact dimensional adherence.
STAGE 1
Prime Billet Selection
Prime continuous-cast steel billets with verified chemical composition are inspected for surface integrity, chemical heat homogeneity, and dimensional consistency prior to furnace loading.
STAGE 2
Continuous Reheating (1250°C)
Billets enter the continuous pusher reheating furnace where digital pyrometers maintain uniform heating between 1200°C and 1250°C, ensuring optimal plasticity with minimal scaling.
STAGE 3
Roughing Mill Breakdown
Heated billets pass through 3-high heavy roughing stands, breaking down cross-sectional area and establishing the initial profile contour while optimizing grain alignment.
STAGE 4
Intermediate & Finishing Passes
Calibrated chill-cast rolls shape the steel through intermediate and finishing passes to achieve exact IS:808 web depths, flange parallelisms, and sharp angle leg geometry.
STAGE 5
Automated Cooling & Shearing
Red-hot sections are transferred to the automatic walking cooling bed for uniform stress relief, then cut to standard commercial 12m/custom lengths by high-speed flying shears.
STAGE 6
MTC Testing & Mill Dispatch
Each bundle is weighed on calibrated electronic scales, tagged with batch heat numbers, and accompanied by our authenticated Mill Test Certificate for customer dispatch.
